In short

• Your profile, food diary and photos are stored only on your device.
• To count calories, the photo or text of a dish is sent to our server and then to an AI provider. We do not keep it.
• You sign in with a phone number. Your subscription is tied to it.
• The app has no ads and no third-party trackers. We do not sell data.

Who we are

Taom AI is a nutrition tracking app. The data operator is the developer of the app. You can reach us at the address shown on the app's page in the App Store or Google Play.

What is stored on your device

• Profile: sex, year of birth, height, weight, goal, activity level, language.
• Diary: dishes, calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, meal time.
• Photos of dishes that you took or picked.
• Water marks and weight history.

This data is not sent to our server. It is removed together with the app or with the "Delete all data" button in the profile.

Sign-in by phone number

To use the app you sign in with your phone number and confirm it with a code. The number is needed for three things: to recognise you at sign-in, to tie the trial analyses and the subscription to you, and to move the subscription to a new phone.

The server keeps: the phone number, the registration date, the sign-in keys of your devices, the number of analyses made and the subscription end date. The confirmation code is kept in hashed form for no longer than 5 minutes.

The code is sent by SMS through a messaging operator in Uzbekistan. It receives only the number and the text with the code. Until SMS delivery is connected, the code is filled in by the app automatically.

We do not call you or send ads to your number, and we share it with no one except the messaging operator that delivers the code.

The app server may be located outside the Republic of Uzbekistan. By signing in with your number you agree to such processing.

What is sent to the server

When you ask the app to estimate a dish, only the following is sent:

• the photo of the dish or the text describing it;
• the answer language and your short note to the photo, if you added one.

Your profile, weight, diary and other details about you are not sent. Do not photograph documents, faces or other personal information.

Who receives the data

The server forwards the photo or text to an AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic, USA), which returns the estimate. The provider processes the request under its API terms: it may keep it temporarily for abuse protection and by default does not use it to train models. We do not share data with anyone else.

By sending a photo or text for analysis you consent to this transfer outside the Republic of Uzbekistan.

What the server records

The server does not keep photos or texts after it answers. Its log contains only technical details: request time, model used, token count and duration. IP addresses and request contents are not written to the log.

To count trial scans and the daily limit, the server keeps the number of scans made and the subscription end date. They are tied to your account, that is, to your phone number. A random identifier of the app installation is kept as well; it changes when the app is reinstalled.

Subscription and payment

The subscription is paid through Click, Payme or Uzum. The payment is processed by the payment system: we do not receive or store card details. We only receive the payment confirmation. The server keeps the order number, plan, amount, status and the name of the payment service. We do not store the card number or the phone that the payment system reports about the payer.

What we do not do

• We do not ask for a name, email or password. An account is only a phone number.
• We do not show ads or use advertising identifiers.
• We do not collect location, contacts or biometric data.
• We do not sell or trade data.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 16. Teenagers should use it together with their parents.

Not medical advice

Calorie estimates and tips are approximate and for information only. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or have an eating disorder, consult a doctor.

Your rights

You can view, change or delete your data in the app at any time. Your account on the server consists of the phone number, the analysis counters and the subscription end date. On request we will delete it together with the number. You can sign out in the profile. For questions about data processing, write to us and we will reply within 10 business days.

Applicable law

We comply with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Personal Data". If diary sync or new kinds of data are added to the app, we will update this policy and ask for your consent in advance.

Changes

A new version is published in the app with its date. We will tell you about material changes when the app starts.
